2013 New Year Search Marketing Resolutions

So, it’s that time of year when we are all trying to keep to our New Year’s resolutions (or, you may have already broken them!). As an online business owner have you sat down and thought about your search marketing resolutions? Teach yourself the basics of mobile – 2012 has already shown us that devices, whether smartphone or tablet are dominating our search activity. It can only be foolish of you as an online business owner not to become aware of this emerging market. Mobile search is becoming a huge part of many people’s daily lives. With the decrease in PC use, we are turning to our mobiles to quickly search for things on demand. As a retailer, having a responsive web design is something you should be updating your current website with.

Mobile apps are also becoming dominant. With an increase in use of 50% from 2011 to 2012, the time is now to become aware of this emerging area. Google Analytics has clearly been working hard to improve their analytics tracking for mobile apps and the need for engagement measurement will no doubt continue to grow throughout 2013.

With Google+ posts now featuring in search results more often, it is essential that you make the most of this platform. Whether you love or hate Google+, the search engine that commands the biggest share in the search engine market have thrown great weight behind the use of the platform. Now for us, that’s enough reason to get behind it.
