The Best April Fool’s Day Tricks From Around The Web.

The beginning of April is upon us and with it has been a mixture of weird and wonderful April fool’s day based pranks! The world of social media has been taken over by people sharing their April Fool’s day experiences- we’re sure you have witnessed some classics trending on your time lines today. From the old classics, to the utterly hilarious, to the utterly bizarre, here at Digital State Marketing we want to share some of our favourites from the day!

We think, up there with the bizarrely brilliant April Fool’s day pranks is the square egg conspiracy! ITV’s Daybreak were responsible for this one, reporting how experts were left baffled by the “first freedom farm in the world to rear chickens that can lay square eggs.” It didn’t take many of us long to “crack” the case. However, this grabbed the attention of the nation and it wasn’t long before Cadbury were getting in on the joke, advertising April Fools Day Crème “squeggs”- a square crème egg. Unfortunately, the convenient “square egg” will have to stay in our imaginations for now. At least those egg cups will still come in handy though.

As usual Google offered up some April Fool’s fun, with an online based “job application” process, where users interacted with the mobile version of Google maps to “find” Pokemon in real life situations.

Uk Company Wynsors World of Shoes opted for a fools prank as part of their email marketing strategy, with their new range of “invisible shoes”.

Whatever we think of April Fool’s day; comedy gold or damn right ridiculous, we have to admit it does seem to have a positive effect on the nation. It encourages imagination, conversation pieces, and most importantly brings people together through laughter. Sometimes it’s good to be silly.
